We also noticed a definite improvement in exposure and contrast, even over the iPhone XS from the previous year, with more definition and detail in the shadowy areas. In terms of day to day use though, we found the iPhone 11’s screen to be clear, bright and easy to see even outdoors on bright days. It can run up to 625 nits of brightness, according to Apple, and that’s enough for us in most scenarios - blinding if you look at it on full brightness when opening your eyes in the morning. In terms of calls, all of the new iPhones have the latest voice technologies, including Wi-Fi calling and the superior EVS codec (brought in with the iPhone 8, in case you're upgrading from something earlier). The speakerphone and earpiece are just fine, and I didn't find any difference between the new iPhones when it comes to making calls. One of the highlights of the iPhone XR was that it was easily one of the longest-lasting iPhones we’d seen, if not the longest-lasting. The iPhone 11 display has rounded corners that follow a beautiful curved design, and these corners are within a standard rectangle. When measured as a standard rectangular shape, the screen is 6.06 inches diagonally (actual viewable area is less). Splash, Water, and Dust Resistant 3 Not sold yet? Night mode is the deal maker. Apple's Night mode combines a whole bunch of frames to make dramatic improvements in low-light performance, and it's adjustable based on how long you're willing to wait and how much light you want to add. We were actually worried that our testing process had gone wrong in some way, such was the surprising performance, but it was true – and the iPhone 11 carries on in that vein. We found it to be essentially as good as the XR in terms of stamina, easily making it through to the end of a working day in our testing.

In addition, the main camera offers time-lapse. To make switching between photo and video modes as easy as possible, Apple has revised the system of controls. With the touch of a finger, you can now switch directly from one to the other. The same applies to switching from wide-angle to ultra-wide angle. The convenient user interface reproduces both angles, so you can determine which lens is best for any particular subject.
