I haven't actually managed to bake any cakes from this book so far but i have read it from cover to cover. I love that the directions are very easy to follow and the cakes are simple to make they can even be done by kids. Her instructions are clear, most recipes have photos (that was my one quibble - I would have liked all the recipes to have photos). Mary also shows how to scale the recipe up or down depending on the cake tin sizes you have at home.
